Evaluations for 8U - 12U+ will be held at the Idle Hour softball fields on Airport Rd on February 8, 2025. Times for each age division will be provided. There are no evaluations for 6U.
All players will be placed on a team even if the player is unable to attend evaluations. However, evaluations are necessary to give coaches the opportunity to evaluate strengths and weaknesses before drafting teams. Creating teams with equal ability and skill levels provides a more competitive and rewarding experience for the players.
The 12U age division has been expanded to allow players an extra season of PCYS eligibility. 12U+ includes birth years 2011-2013. However, to meet eligibility for postseason All-Star teams, Dixie Softball Organization age requirements must be met. (Birth year 2011 may not be eligible for All-Star competition based on All-Star format decided by the PCYS Board.)
Practices will begin the week of February 17.
Regular season games will begin the week of March 17 and will end week of April 28. All 6u teams will play 10 games. All other teams will play 12 games plus the end of season tournament.
The majority of games will be played on Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's. Game times are typically 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM EST.
Idle Hour Sports Complex 900 Airport Rd Phenix City AL 36867
If a game is cancelled due to weather, every effort will be made to reschedule games but there are no guarantees. Makeup games are typically scheduled for Friday's depending on umpire, coach and player availability.

Does the league participate in All Star tournaments?
Typically, some divisions within the league will participate in all star tournaments at the end of the spring season. There are no all star teams during the fall season. The league board will determine the best format for all star season based on overall talent levels and player availability in each division. All star teams or festivities may look different for each division. In years past, we have fielded a traditional all star team in 8u, 10u, and 12u divisions and played in tournaments against other regional leagues. In some cases, the board has elected to only field a traditional all star team in one or two divisions while hosting an inter-league all star game for other divisions. Each season, what is most fitting for the league and what is best for the players will be determined by the board.
